Our philosophy

The story of Cantina Produttori di Valdobbiadene is not just a corporate history. It is the story of a territory, a community, and an important part of the very evolution of Prosecco in its most authentic forms.

 

With over 1,000 hectares of vineyards managed by around 600 winegrower members, Cantina Produttori di Valdobbiadene is now one of the most representative realities in the production area, known worldwide, and one of the top companies in national winemaking.

 

Cantina Produttori di Valdobbiadene represents the history of a collective enterprise, a true social initiative that responds to the needs of a community of people: it was founded in 1952 thanks to the initiative of 129 founding members, farmers from post-WWII Italy, driven by the desire to rebuild their land and their community, marked by the devastating wounds of the Second World War. These 129 founding members decided, together, to unite their forces to bring to life the brilliant idea that, then as now, embodies the strong spirit of cooperation that still unites the winegrower members.

Our DNA, yesterday as today

The founding of the winery, in addition to representing an important opportunity for rebirth for the individual winegrower members in the immediate post-war period, also laid the foundations for the development and establishment of the quality of Valdobbiadene wine. Economic development has been constant, as has the continuous addition of new members—land entrepreneurs who understand the importance of sharing goals and resources for healthy and sustainable growth, distributing duties and successes equally, and creating a virtuous model of socially responsible business. This approach anticipated by more than half a century the trends that are now strongly present in the labor market and in business models today. All of this is thanks to the deeply agricultural DNA and the spirit of community.

1952 - April 14: foundation of the Cantina Sociale di Valdobbiadene Cooperative: there are 129 members.

1997 - a bottling plant is purchased, bringing the company to a production capacity of 4,000 bottles per hour.

2017 - Inauguration of the logistics hub with a new bottling line and an automated underground warehouse with over 7,000 pallet spaces.

2020 - Obtaining SQNPI certifications for the entire membership and VIVA for "Sustainability in Viticulture in Italy." Presentation of the first Sustainability Report.

Our wines: authentic pride

The wines of Cantina Produttori Valdobbiadene come from a unique territory, the excellence of the DOCG Valdobbiadene and Asolo, including the lands considered “cru”: 14 hectares in Cartizze and 120 in the “Rive”, where the grapes, coming from steep vineyards that require long and strenuous manual labor by the winegrowers (800 hours per hectare per year of manual labor compared to 150 hours per hectare with mechanical work), achieve a recognized quality of an even higher level, and for this reason are indicated on the label as a specific geographical unit.
